Other electronics repair in Tartu
The Telescope workshop in Tartu inspects, diagnoses and repairs smaller electronic devices, including tablets and iPads, game consoles, controllers, robot vacuum cleaners, circuit boards and equipment with faulty HDMI, USB-C or charging ports.
If the device is not clearly a computer or phone, contact us and describe the problem. We will give you an honest answer about whether it is worth bringing to the workshop for inspection.
When should you bring an electronic device in for inspection?
An electronics fault does not always mean the device is completely broken. Often the problem appears earlier: the device does not charge properly, a connection drops, the image disappears, buttons stop working or the device behaves unusually after moisture exposure.
An early inspection helps determine whether repair is worthwhile and whether more serious damage can be prevented.

Tablets and iPads
We inspect tablets and iPads with broken screens or glass, charging problems, poor battery life, an unresponsive touchscreen or a charging connector that needs checking. If the repair requires a spare part, we confirm its availability and compatibility before starting.

Game consoles
We inspect PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and other game consoles that will not turn on, produce no picture, overheat, make unusual noise or need an HDMI, USB-C, power or other connection checked.

Gamepads and controllers
We help with gamepads and controllers when buttons do not work, the controller will not connect or charge, the charging connector is damaged or an analogue stick drifts. With Joy-Con, DualSense and other controllers, we begin by inspecting the fault.

Bluetooth speakers and music systems
We inspect JBL Boombox-type portable speakers, Sony MHC music systems, Harman Kardon speakers and similar audio equipment that will not turn on or charge, produce crackling sound, fail to connect over Bluetooth or have buttons that do not work. If the repair requires a spare part, we confirm its availability and compatibility before starting.

Circuit boards and soldering
We carry out soldering work on circuit boards and connections when the problem involves a charging, HDMI or USB connector, a power connection, corrosion or a broken connection. Before starting, we assess whether the repair is technically worthwhile.

Other small electronics
If your device does not fit neatly into any of these categories, you can still contact us. Tell us what the device is, its model and the problem, and we will let you know whether it is worth bringing to the Telescope workshop for inspection.
Workshop repairs and on-site help
Smaller electronic devices are usually best brought to the workshop because inspection may require tools, testing, spare parts or soldering. If the issue concerns setup, connecting equipment or another straightforward problem, on-site assistance can also be discussed when appropriate.
The Telescope workshop is located at Sõpruse pst 2, room 7, Tartu.
Common electronics repairs
It is not always possible to give a final answer before inspecting the device. We first examine the fault, assess whether a spare part is needed and explain whether the repair makes sense considering the device’s value and the amount of work involved.
Screen and glass replacement
On tablets, iPads and some other smaller devices, the problem may be a damaged screen, glass or touch panel. We check the screen’s condition, spare-part availability and whether replacement is worthwhile for the particular model.
Battery and charging problems
If a device will not charge, loses power quickly or works only while connected to a charger, the cause may be the battery, charging connector, cable, adapter or a circuit-board connection. We inspect the device to find where the problem begins.
Circuit boards and soldering
Circuit-board problems can be caused by moisture, impact, overheating, a poor connection or a damaged connector. We check for corrosion, broken connections, connectors and small components, then assess whether soldering or component replacement is possible.
HDMI, USB-C and charging connectors
A damaged or loose HDMI, USB-C, Lightning or charging connector is a common problem on many devices. We inspect the connector, plug, solder joints and connection, then advise whether replacement or soldering is worthwhile.
Buttons, contacts and connections
If a button does not respond, a controller will not connect, the connection drops or the device works only in a certain position, the problem may be in the contacts, connector, cable, switch or circuit-board connection. We begin with an inspection and, if needed, clean or replace the relevant part.
Moisture and liquid damage
If an electronic device has been exposed to water, coffee or another liquid, do not try to turn it on or charge it again. Moisture can damage connections and the circuit board even if the device still works at first.
Price
How much does electronics repair cost?
The cost of electronics repair depends on the device, the cause of the fault, the need for spare parts and the amount of work involved. The same symptom can indicate very different problems on different devices, so an accurate estimate requires inspecting the device or at least knowing its model and the details of the fault.
Before starting work, we explain which solution is sensible and what affects the price. If a repair is not worthwhile considering the device’s value or the extent of the damage, we will say so honestly.

Other small electronics by arrangement
If your device is not listed, that does not automatically mean we cannot inspect it. Send us the model, a photo and a short description. This helps us determine whether an inspection is worthwhile before you visit the workshop. An early inspection also makes it easier to assess whether repair is sensible and whether more serious damage can be prevented.
